Information You're Finding!

Fossil Gen 6 and TicWatch Pro 3 are pretty close in many things. What truly makes the difference is TicWatch Pro 3 is far better in terms of OS and hardware.

Fossil Gen 6: Casual One

Fossil Gen 6 and the company itself Fossil aren’t a new entry for smartwatch lovers. The history of the brand goes way back to the 80s. It would not be a fool’s mistake to trust their watchmaking experiences.

Fossil Gen 6 is manufactured with quality in mind and expertise of hands. With a crunch display that complements its sleek body and features, there is a lot that can be done with it in hand.

Ticwatch Pro 3: Entertaining One

While Mobvoi doesn’t share the market real estate, Fossil does in the watchmaking industry. Ticwatch Pro 3 has everything you need to establish itself as a global household name.

Ticwatch Pro 3 is another tech set that has captured the attention. Although it has not been around for a long time and is a victim of super-optimized Wear OS, there is nothing to hold against it compared to the industry’s heavyweights.

Money is important. If you have money, you can have anything (almost). If you don’t have money, you won’t be able to have much (100%). That is life. That’s why we feel it is important to clarify pricing first.

So here it goes:

Fossil Gen 6 is priced at $300 in the market today. On the other hand, Mobvoi Ticwatch Pro 3 is standing at the $330 mark. At this point, we feel it is not wise to further debate the subject given that each person’s financial standings differ. We want to make a point regarding industry standards and how these two might not be the most expensive smartwatches you have ever seen.

Body In Question

“Don’t judge a book by its cover.”

Someone we all know

I am sure you would’ve heard it one way or another from someone trying to paint themselves as a fallen angel. Never believe that. As much as I’d love for it to be true, it isn’t. Humans seek beauty. It doesn’t matter in what shape or form it is. We are never not impressed by aesthetically pleasing sights, things, and people.

Fossil Gen 6 and Ticwatch Pro 3 isn’t safe from sight and standard of man!

Built Quality

Although the size of a smartwatch shouldn’t be the sole reason to choose one over the other, it is not hard to understand why people might think differently. One of my friends recently sold his Ticwatch just because he felt it was too large.

So it happens…

Fossil Gen 6 has a screen size of 1.28 inches compared to the 1.40-inch Ticwatch Pro 3. Given the minor difference in the numbers, it might seem it isn’t something to consider. When you’d have it in hand, contrasting differences do shine.

You can have Gen 6 on your hands 24/7, and you wouldn’t be able to notice. Given the handy design and minute structure, it’s quite comforting to be wrapped around your wrist.

Display Screen

We think it would be fair to say many of us are charmed by a bright, radiating display. It doesn’t matter what it is, a smartphone or a smartwatch. It’s natural to be excited about it.

Display Comparison of Fossil Gen 6 vs TicWatch Pro 3

Thankfully, it doesn’t matter what you choose. Fossil Gen 6 and Ticwatch Pro 3 can produce a blistering show of colors.

“But Ticwatch Pro 3 has a bigger size, wouldn’t it have better display experience as well!!!”

Well, yes, there is no denying it. Mobvoi has crafted the Pro 3 Dual Display quite carefully. Look at its display prowess just once, and you will instantly pick the difference between the two. That’s not to say Fossil Gen 6 doesn’t perform the same, but facts can’t lie.

Resistivity Prowess

As much as we love to spread awareness regarding device health and safety, we don’t see many people taking the resistive capacity of their smart devices seriously. It’s never their first thought when deciding, which is fine, but a more considered approach would be better too.

Just like the one Fossil and Mobvoi took when creating these devices.

Resistivity Comparison of Fossil Gen 6 vs TicWatch Pro 3

Both Gen 6 and Pro 3 are certified, tried, and tested to withstand dust and water exposure. You can splash them in a water bowl for 30 mins, and they’ll keep functioning. However, it would be best if you never did it. It is an electronic device, after all. And yes, given the standards, it isn’t something to gush over. It is reassuring to see companies still care enough to make our experience one to remember.

Features At Time

Is it really a smartwatch if it doesn’t have features that can blow our minds and make us crave it until we are in line to buy it? We don’t think so. Every year companies all around the globe market their inventions through features that benefit us, and it works like a charm. People are attracted to the solutions even if they don’t have the problem they are solving. It’s weird but true.

Fossil Gen 6 and Ticwatch Pro 3 are expected to perfect these weird expectations

Sensors Sensing Everything?

It’s hard to pick up a piece of a smartwatch and say because of it, SMARTWATCH is SMARTWATCH in the first place and not a common WATCH. Given the task, we feel it is safe to assume the majority would point fingers at sensors as an integral part of the innovation.

Would they be wrong for it? No

And Fossil and Mobvoi understood it!

Sensors Comparison of Fossil Gen 6 vs TicWatch Pro 3

Despite what you might hear otherwise, Gen 6 and Pro 3 are more than enough to handle your needs in different phases of the day. You can be anywhere in the world, and if they are charged enough, you will be able to track records, analyze the data, and save it for later.

“What type of data we are talking about?”

Well…

They can measure your oxygenation level, heart rate, steps, sleeping duration, distance, calories burned, pace, elevation, and whatnot. It wouldn’t matter what you choose in the end. You are good to go if these are what you seek for you in smartwatches.

“But I heard there isn’t compass in the Ticwatch Pro 3! So does that mean Gen 6 wins this round?”

No. It is true that Ticwatch Pro 3 doesn’t have a live compass. When you realize Fossil Gen 6 doesn’t have a barometer, we feel it levels the playing field.

Connectivity Ability

Smartwatch is a perfect example of an IoT device. It retrieves information through different mediums, analyzes the data it receives, and then produces a result based on the conditions. However, the medium is important, and Fossil and Mobvoi defiantly took care of it.

Connection Comparison of Fossil Gen 6 vs TicWatch Pro 3

So it wouldn’t matter whether you have an iPhone or Android device. Given the compatibility optimization, you are good to go with either of them. Although, there is one thing that we feel is a bummer: the unavailability of Wi-Fi 5. Given the changing paradigms, it seems like an investment with the future in mind would’ve been a better option. So, yes, Wi-Fi 5 is a missed chance here.

Especially for Fossil Gen 6 since it doesn’t have cellular coverage or Galileo to provide 30% more accurate location results, unlike its competitor.

“So Ticwatch Pro 3 won this round?”

It seems like it, yes.

Wits To Out Wits

Let’s talk about fun stuff. Because let’s be honest, all of us think smartwatches make us look cool, especially if our watch looks sleek and allows us to attend calls.

Don’t you dare convince me you don’t feel like Bond talking through your watch!!!

Wits Comparison of Fossil Gen 6 vs TicWatch Pro 3

However, in the case of our today’s talking point, Fossil Gen 6 and Ticwatch Pro 3 have a lot more to offer than just making sure we look cool using them.

Don’t believe us?

Well, here is the list…

  • They can be used to locate your phone.
  • They gave you call control.
  • You’ll always stay up to date with timely notifications on your hands.
  • They have a fully functioning vibration motor.
  • You can control your watches with voice commands.
  • 1GB RAM and 8GB Internal Storage is more than enough to make sure everything runs smoothly.
  • You get a stopwatch through both of them.
  • Connecting to Social Media platforms isn’t a hassle.
  • You get inactivity alerts as a reminder to keep working out.
  • All your data is synced to your phone as well as an online portal making sure you can retrieve it from anywhere.

“Wow! This Round is going to be a tied too, right?”

We wish, but sadly, for Gen 6, its OS support isn’t optimized enough to be held in the same breath as Ticwatch’s. Anyone familiar with Google Wear OS knows how flustering it can be. So, it is not a particularly smooth transition to do your work on a Wear OS device, especially if it isn’t optimized like Ticwatch Pro 3.

Round Three and the Battle goes to Ticwatch Pro 3

Battery Life

We don’t need you to tell us the importance of a battery in a smart device. You know very well about it. Just like you would be familiar with how important it is to have a device that can charge up in a short period, right?

If not, get ready…

Because Fossil Gen 6 and Ticwatch Pro 3 are not different than any other gadget when it comes to stable battery health.

Spoiler: It is REALLY not different: Fossil Gen 5 vs Ticwatch Pro 3

Lifespan Over Lifetime

The battery Power of a device can be defined as its capacity to hold an electric charge. A device with a small capacity would dry up soon, and you would have to charge it frequently. At the same time, the one with a bigger number would remain up and alive for a longer period.

That makes sense, right?

Lifespan Comparison of Fossil Gen 6 vs TicWatch Pro 3

If it does and battery power is something you prioritize first in your decision-making, then it wouldn’t be a great choice to go for Fossil Gen 6. Given its capacity of 300mAH is almost the halfway point for Ticwatch’s 577mAH battery, you might have to charge up the former frequently.

“Ticwatch is really killing it here!”

If even that’s not enough to sway your opinion, then get ready to hear this: Ticwatch Pro 3 has a battery life of 3 days compared to 2 days of Fossil Gen 6!

Charging Time

As we discussed the importance of a device’s Battery Power, it is also necessary to not forget or at least not ignore the charging time that can influence your usage. For an average smartwatch, 1 hour should be the maximum to get it from 0% to 100%. However, it is not always the case.

Why!!!

It’s not easy to figure out and not relevant to our discussion here, either. What is relevant is how Fossil Gen 6 and Ticwatch Pro 3 stack up when standing against each other.

Well…

Charging Time Comparison of Fossil Gen 6 vs TicWatch Pro 3

Fossil Gen 6 is known for its ultra-fast charging. You can put your Gen 6 on a charge, and 30 mins later, it would be near 100%. That is more than Impressive but certainly not the indication of Ticwatch’s failure. Your Pro 3 won’t take 5 hours as well (It shouldn’t, at least, if it is in working condition), yet it might not be the one to match up Fossil’s ultra-fast numbers.

Victory For One So Preference Time

You open your eyes, and the salesman is still there. He seems confused, but that’s okay. You were too a minute ago.

“Sir, I am waiting.” He says with a smile.

You step in his direction and say: “I WANT BOTH OF THEM!”

Frequently Asked Questions

100%. If you want a smartwatch that can track activity, runs background tasks smoothly, charges up quickly, and makes you look cool, then yes, Fossil Gen 6 is definitely worth buying.

No. It is a Chinese company that is backed by Google. However Mobvoi does use Google products most prominently Google wearOS for its smartwatches and Google Assistant features.

Yes, it is accurate, you can trust the data watch would collect.
