It has been a while since Fossil Gen 3 hit the market and became a flagship product for Fossil. So if you are thinking of buying one and feel the need to understand how it can fulfill your expectations. Below are the 10 most prominent Fossil Q Venture Gen 3 Features that you should know about:

Battery Power Of Fossil Q Venture!
It might seem counterintuitive to begin on the following note but I have had always one complaint with Fossil smartwatches: Battery. As much as I adore the Company and its rich history they still haven’t managed to optimize the battery performance of its products.
And I think the same for Gen 4, Gen 5, Gen 5E, Gen 6…
Even after years, it seems they just couldn’t figure out the secret formula to make their watches last long. Although if your usage wouldn’t be hardware consuming then it might be possible for you to take it to the next day without the need to sit down and put it up to charge. For me, it wasn’t the case, so I wasn’t satisfied.
Moving on from the disappointing facet Fossil Q Venture Gen 3 has also a non-removable battery (unlike the Fitbit tracker) so if you are thinking of any bright ideas, don’t, I tried and it was the end for my smartwatch. You might be able to claim a warranty – Fossil gives 2 years – since it can be defined as an illegal attempt they might not be helpful to you.
Screen Size Is Vital To Gen 3 Fossil…
Now that I have expressed the most disappointing part it is time to shine the light on what I loved the most about Fossil Q Venture Gen 3 or what – hopefully – you could too.
OLED TECHNOLOGY!!!
Before your mind lights up thinking OLED isn’t the factually best option out there? Let me clarify, yes OLED technology is not FACTUALLY the premium option Fossil could’ve used. If you would take a peek at the other Android smartwatches you’d see the correlation of how the majority is still relying on the TFT-LCD technology.
Shudders
Anyways, Fossil Gen 3 comes with a 1.65-inch screen, which makes it much bigger than its many successors Gen 5 and Gen 6, both of which are near the 1.20-inch mark. Now why is that a mystery to many, I reckon it’s more to do with leaning towards a better design.
However, if your beliefs lie on: “BIGGER THE BETTER.”
I think you would love the Fossil Q Venture Gen 3!
Body Of The Gen 3
Just like the new Gen 5 Fossil had to make Gen 3 waterproof too. So if by chance you happen to drop it in water, you won’t have to worry. Your Fossil Q Venture Gen 3 can tolerate water for 30 meters.
And that’s not all!
Although it is highly unlikely you would ever find yourself in the Sahara in the middle of a dust storm Fossil Gen 3 is also resistant to sand and dust as well. And I am so sure of it because I had mine lost in Dubai during the Desert Safari. It might’ve taken me 20 mins to find it but cleaning it back wasn’t what I would want to do again.
Not Again!
Apart from the resistive features of the Fossil Gen 3 body, it is pretty normal by the standard of the industry. There isn’t anything about it to hate with the heart and love with the mind. It has a width and height of around – 44m – much like Gen 6 and you do have a creative option to replace the band.
There are many available for very cheap!
All The Sensors Of Fossil Q Venture!
As you would’ve seen by now Fossil Gen 3 isn’t that far from its successors. However, sensors are something that it fails to bring onto the table. You have sensors like:
- Blood Oxygenation: Fossil Q Venture Gen 3 will measure how much oxygen is leaving your muscles and other organs.
- Accelerometer: Fossil Q Venture Gen 3 will keep track of the linear acceleration of the device by detecting the changes in the horizontal and vertical axis.
- Gyroscope: Fossil Q Venture Gen 3 will monitor the orientation of the device using angular rotational velocity.
However, it is not enough, by the standards that we should uphold in 2023, they don’t seem enough, there should be more. Even if we compare it to the likes of CASIO or Seiko ABC watches it doesn’t stand tall to them.
Tracking Abilities Of Fossil At Play!
Much like the sensors Fossil Q Venture Gen 3 features aren’t the most thorough in terms of activity tracking too. If you compare it to the likes of Fossil Gen 5 or the later. However, if you won’t, and you happen to be someone who just doesn’t give a damn about exercise, then you might not feel the difference.
So, let’s say you get the Fossil Gen 3 for yourself.
You can do the following:
- You can use your Fossil Q Venture Gen 3 to track your steps. I know it is not the most revolutionary feature of all time, but it is a feature, and I do refer to it after each jogging session.
- Let’s say you want to travel the world in 87 days and break the record. Now if you would have Fossil Gen 3 it has the feature to track the distance traveled, so you won’t have to use a tape to measure the distance every 1 hour later.
- Last but not least it is completely possible to track the calories burned with your Fossil Gen 3. Although, the reading might not be accurate!
Other Stuff
Now, this is the part where Fossil Gen 3 truly thrives to become what it is: an Amazing Android smartwatch. It runs on Snapdragon 2100. Yes, Fossil Gen 6 is on Snapdragon 3100. But you won’t feel the difference.
There won’t be fluctuations.
You can download applications from Play Store. Play Music. Have notifications to remain connected to the world even if your cell phone is far from you. Sync data to Fossil cloud service to keep it safe and secured. Use voice commands to activate Google Assistant.
Like there is a lot that it can do…
A lot!!!
Outro Commentary: Fossil Gen 3 Verdict
Given the time it has been since the arrival and the price tag, you can have it in your hand – literally. Fossil Q Venture Gen 3 features come in a hoard of interactivity. Yes, there are features where it is lacking to be the best. Some features are just the best.
On the other hand if you feel like you can afford the better generations. Then by all means go for them.
While it is true that Fossil Q Venture Gen 3 can provide you with everything it can, there are still things it can’t handle. One such that comes to mind is having Wear OS 3 (which is only on Fossil Gen 6 right now). So options like having WhatsApp on your smartwatch is not what Fossil Gen 3 can provide you.
