Information You're Finding!
You cannot change the ringtones in Apple Watches. It is simply not possible to sync your iPhone tone with your smartwatch. At least until Apple decides the otherwise.
Apple Watch In Simple Words
As put above Apple Watches are simply a brilliant innovation. They are super fun as casual smartwatches and they can be pretty accurate as a medical gauge tool too. Of course, that is not to recommend that you should solely depend on your Apple Watch results for health. No you should not. But as far as reference is the question at hand Apple Watches does a wonderful job.
Sadly, there are aspects to the great smartwatch that are still (even after decade of Apple Watches dominance) unfulfilled. One such is matter of ringtones. Your Apple Watch has the speaker. Your Apple Watch can connect and sync with iPhone. Yet your Apple Watch won’t allow you to do anything about ringtones when it comes to customization!
Can iPhone & Apple Watch Ringtone Sync Up?
No. The simple answer is not possible. You cannot sync Apple Watch with your iPhone ringtone even in 2024!
If you were thinking of using ‘Butter by BTS’ as your ringtone on Apple Watch then I have to very regretfully tell you that it is just not possible. While iPhones allows the user to customize the ringtone – the same ringtone cannot be sync with your Apple Watch. Then no matter what you do. It is just how it is.
Why Is Options For Apple Watch Ringtones Limited?
Any guess is good guess is here. But ours is that perhaps Apple wants to keep the burden on memory of an Apple Watch as minimal as it can. Which means that customization option is not available in any Apple Watch. Even the ones that were released during the last September (Series 9 and Ultra 2).
Another reason which could be acquitted to this problem is speakers. Maybe Apple believes that the speakers that they use are not good enough for ringtones. Although it is not what majority feels since the early days of Apple Watches the newer gen of Apple Watches have more than capable speakers installed in them.
One last thing which you should know and though Apple has not endorsed this idea it is our idea that maybe – just maybe – Apple doesn’t feel the same way about ringtones as we do. So for them it is nothing which actually matters. They don’t feel that customization option for ringtones is what needs their attention. Especially when Apple Watches are on brink on introducing the ground breaking medical features likes of which includes blood pressure tracking.
You Can Always Opt For Haptic Feedback!!!
While changing ringtones on Apple Watch is still a dream that we all share. You don’t have to rely on ringtones at all. Many people who owns Apple Watches simply put them on silent through control center and then uses haptic feedback of watches to get any alert that requires their attention. Same thing you can do by going through the following steps – if you have not done it already:
- Open the Settings app.
- Scroll down and tap Sounds & Haptics.
- Turn Haptic Alerts on or off.
- To add extra emphasis to haptic alerts, tap Prominent. This feature adds an additional haptic tap that pre-announces some of your other haptic alerts.
You can also change the settings for specific apps from your iPhone. On your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app, go to the My Watch tab, and tap Sounds & Haptics.
Is There Chance Apple Will Change Its Ways Soon?
Honestly the less said about it is better. Because certainly no one apart from the Tim Cook himself can tell you when will Apple will work on it. Or will it even come to their attention. Because given the current situation and how Apple has put more focused on health stuff recently the chances of customization of ringtones arriving on shores of Apple Watch seems unlikely.
Yet then again Apple works in mysterious ways and there is no telling. Perhaps next time we will see the announcement the first thing on the ledger would be to announce the feature of ringtone. However, till then the best we can do is work with what we got and what we got is few options to choose for our Apple Watch ringtone.
